Lifeguard - Aquatics Safety Specialist

The Aquatics Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring a safe and enjoyable aquatics environment for users and guests at West Tennessee Healthcare. This role involves providing a clean, well-maintained, and safe aquatics environment in compliance with facility and local public health department standards.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Greet each user and guest by name when they enter and leave the pool area, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Monitor Aquatics Environment: Continuously monitor user activity within the aquatics environment to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
- Assist with Pool Maintenance: Assist the pool coordinator with monitoring the pool environment to ensure compliance with local health codes and user needs, including monitoring and balancing water chemistry, temperature, and cleanliness.
- Administer Aquatics Services: Provide aquatics services as set forth by the facility, including teaching swim lessons, supervising group-swim activities, and assisting with other aquatics program activities.
- Support Departmental Activities: Assist with any required job activity of the department to ensure users are served in accordance with the wellness center's overall service philosophy.
- Maintain Professionalism: Behave at all times in a manner of professionalism that aligns with the values, philosophies, and standards of the wellness center and West Tennessee Healthcare.
- Attend Meetings and Training: Attend all scheduled meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Licensure and Certification: Certification in life saving and/or water safety from the American Red Cross or other recognized agency, and AED/CPR certification required during orientation period.
- Experience: 3 months' experience preferred.
