Relay Resident Educator

About the ResidencyThe Uncommon Schools-Relay GSE Teaching Residency is a two-year program that combines high-quality teacher training with hands-on experience in the classroom. As a Resident, you will work full-time at Uncommon Schools-Rochester Prep, helping to increase student achievement and support school-level systems. You will also receive weekly Deliberate Practice sessions from Relay GSE's expert faculty and additional training in proven, powerful teaching techniques.
What You'll Do- Tutor small groups and individual students
- Be a teacher's assistant
- Co-teach
- Teach certain elective and enrichment courses
- Substitute teach
- Complete Relay GSE coursework and take graduate school classes
- Take all necessary New York state tests towards teacher certification
- A Master of Arts in Teaching from Relay GSE
- A New York teaching certificate
- Full-time salary and benefits for two years

To be eligible for the Uncommon Schools-Relay GSE Teaching Residency, you must:
- Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree
- Have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75
- Be a US Citizen or permanent resident
As a Resident, you will be salaried staff members who are simultaneously completing the Relay program. For Residents who remain at Rochester Prep for a third and fourth year, in addition to their salary, they will receive a stipend in each of those years to cover the costs paid out-of-pocket for their participation in Relay.
Salary for this role is $45,000.
