ECM Hub Nurse Specialist

The South Plains is seeking a highly skilled ECM Hub Nurse Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for utilizing the nursing process and clinical skills to prioritize and triage provider calls regarding repatriation and intra-patriation of members, adhering to organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have unrestricted current RN licensure in the state of Georgia or documentation to show intent to seek license, valid Georgia driver's license, and two years of experience in emergency, critical care, or ambulatory telephone triage nursing. This position will work over night, typically 11:30p - 8am (remotely), with some weekend work and flexibility for days or nights when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Locate members at non-core facilities, including identification of ER or IP room number, and verify attending MD name and phone number
- Verify member eligibility and obtain pertinent clinical information to communicate to the ECM Hub MD
- Assist MD in obtaining hospital bed, arranging ambulance transport, and other coordination as needed
- Screen Advice RN messages and follow up as needed
- Initiate follow-up appointments or other coordination of care, as directed by the ECM Hub MD
- Facilitate non-emergency same day ambulance transports for all KP members as appropriate
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of all federal, state, local, and regulatory requirements
- Functional knowledge of computers
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.S. in Nursing
- Three (3) years of clinical nursing preferably in a complex area such as emergency room/critical care
- One year of experience with managed health care delivery including Medicare
