We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydrogeologist to join our California Team and support project work primarily based out of our Monterey office.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will manage and provide technical oversight to multiple tasks and/or projects, interacting with team leaders, project staff, clients, and regulators. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an enthusiastic team of water resource scientists and engineers throughout California.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and technically contribute to tasks and projects focusing on quantitative hydrogeology and groundwater resources management
- Support projects planning and implementation of SGMA, designing and interpreting results of predictive modeling runs, and developing hydrogeologic conceptual models and water budgets
- Design monitoring networks, interact with field teams, and implement monitoring programs
- Meet with regulatory agencies and water agencies, perform data evaluations, and prepare technical reports
- Provide senior review of technical reports, support Program Managers and Task Managers with evaluating level of effort and scope of work, and direct junior staff
- Bachelor's degree in hydrology, geology, or engineering; graduate degree preferred
- Clear understanding of hydrogeologic principles to characterize and assess groundwater systems
- Understanding of California water laws and regulations preferred
- Ten or more years of experience in environmental and water resources consulting
- Professional registration (P.G. or P.E.) preferred
- Experience working with groundwater models and SGMA projects for local Groundwater Sustainability Agencies preferred
- Task or project management experience, demonstrated technical writing skills, and ability to present technical information
- Proficiency with standard analytical approaches and tools, interest in professional organizations, and valid California driver's license
We offer a competitive salary range of $9,000 - $11,250 per month, estimated annualized compensation including bonuses $122,000 - $151,000.
