About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled financial reporting and analytics professional to join our Finance and Accounting team at Evolve Ventures and Foundation. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of our growing organization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles related to investments, trust accounting, and related financial reporting and operations. You will be responsible for preparing and delivering detailed portfolio performance reports and analysis, ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance with relevant accounting standards.

You will also own the investment accounting system, oversee contractors who enter data, review data, and perform data validation to ensure correct output. Additionally, you will assist in forecasting future cash flows and liquidity needs based on investment activity and portfolio performance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver detailed portfolio performance reports and analysis for family principals, focusing on investment returns, risk, and liquidity.
  • Ensure accuracy in reporting and compliance with relevant accounting standards, especially around fund investments and complex structures.
  • Own the investment accounting system and ongoing update of data; oversee contractors who enter the data, review data and perform data validation to ensure correct output.
  • Assist in forecasting future cash flows and liquidity needs based on investment activity and portfolio performance.
  • Support tax compliance efforts, including the preparation and review of reports needed for tax filings related to investments and trusts.
  • Ensure accurate trust accounting and compliance with trust rules, working closely with advisors to ensure trust-related financial matters are managed efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and models for tracking the performance of direct investments, private equity funds, and other asset classes.
  • Work closely with the investment team to gather, organize, and interpret financial data from investment managers and third-party reports.
  • Provide support in investor relations, including communication with external stakeholders, preparation of presentations, and responding to information requests where necessary.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in investment reporting, portfolio analytics, or investor relations within a family office or fund management environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles related to investments, trust accounting, and related financial reporting and operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including financial analysis working with complex financial models, pivot tables, vlookups, and manipulating large data sets.
  • Experience with portfolio management software (e.g. FundCount, SCI Archway, Addepar, etc.) and other investment management systems is a plus.
  • Experience supporting tax compliance efforts and conversant in these matters with an understanding of tax implications of investment structures.
  • Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial information to Investment Committee members as well as non-finance personnel.
  • Open to working in a family office environment with a willingness to "get your hands dirty" to support the finance team wherever needed across multiple subject areas.
  • Strong desire to work for an organization committed to making a positive impact on society through both strategic investments as well as direct philanthropic programs.
  • Education: top tier US MBA program graduate or undergraduate degree with major in Finance or Accounting coupled with relevant experience and/or CFA or CPA.
