Head of External Reporting and Technical Accounting Specialist

This role will report to the Director of External Reporting and Revenue. The position will be responsible for leading, developing, and producing high-quality financial reporting and providing strategic direction in technical accounting matters, working directly with the corporate accounting team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the financial reporting team in drafting and filing all financial documents and SEC filings.
- Coordinate with senior leaders to produce earnings documents, including drafting complex or unique matters in a simple and understandable way.
- Oversee accounting technical research related to all accounting matters, including transactions under existing or future rules.
- Prepare supporting documents for company external reporting and work with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits to ensure timely review and finalization of company filings.
- Manage the company's external reporting calendar and schedule, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely filings.
- Support the finance and accounting team with timely and insightful research, documentation, and guidance on technical accounting matters.
- Undergraduate degree in Finance/Accounting with active CPA license or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience, including time within a Big 4 and a global Fortune 500 company, preferably with high-tech industry experience.
- Experience with SEC reporting (Regulation S-X and S-K) and preparation of financial statements and footnotes of public companies.
- Technical accounting expertise in SEC reporting requirements, business combinations, share-based compensation, leases, and revenue recognition.
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP and SEC Regulations.
- Big 4 Senior Managers or Directors (National office experience is a plus).
- Strong work experience with SEC reporting requirements.
- Strongly prefer revenue recognition experience.
