Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Dental Assisting Instructor to join our team at Spartanburg Community College. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in our dental assisting program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality instructional materials and courses to meet the needs of our students.
  • Provide individualized attention and support to students, including academic advising and guidance.
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in dental education, and incorporate this knowledge into your teaching and curriculum development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives to promote student success and retention.
Requirements
  • Diploma degree from an ADA-accredited dental assisting program and a baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in healthcare or a related field.
  • At least one year of recent dental clinical experience and recent teaching experience highly desired.
  • Current CDA certification and meeting minimum CODA guidelines for a dental instructor.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of instructional methodologies and alternative delivery methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
