Recreation Program Facilitator

Position Summary:
The Ray Graham Association is seeking a dedicated part-time Recreation Leader. This role involves supporting the organization of unique events, after-school activities, developmental programs, and fitness initiatives tailored for individuals with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct assistance and support to both children and adults facing physical and developmental challenges.
- Report to the Program Coordinator overseeing each recreational initiative.
- Work during weekday afternoons and evenings, along with weekend shifts.
- Engage participants in diverse activities aimed at enhancing their leisure and social skills.
- Ensure a safe and engaging environment for all program attendees.
- Promote the mission and core values of the Association.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience:
- Preferred 2-5 years of experience in a recreational, community service, educational, or employment context working with individuals with disabilities.
- Minimum age of 17 years.
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint, is advantageous.
- Valid Illinois driver's license required for staff aged 21 and older.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Successful completion of CHIRP and CANTS background checks.
- Capability to lift and assist individuals weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Positive demeanor and enthusiastic attitude.
Work Schedule: This is a part-time position requiring availability during evenings and weekends.
Compensation: The hourly wage for this position is $15.00.
