About the Role

As a critical component of Security Operations at Gen, the Incident Response Team plays a pivotal role in maintaining the organization's security posture. The team is responsible for detecting, managing, and remediating security incidents across the company. Key responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing emerging threats, developing and implementing preventative security measures, and communicating risks and mitigations to various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Detect and respond to company-wide security incidents, coordinating with cross-functional teams to mitigate and eradicate threats.
Monitor and analyze emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits.
Develop and implement scalable preventative security measures (detection, monitoring, exploitation).
Staying up-to-date with current security trends, advisories, publications, and academic research.
Communicate risks and mitigations across multiple audiences.
Proficiency in using Splunk, TheHive/Cortex, and other Security Automation tools.
Experience with designing and implementing processes and tools to improve incident handling and resolution.
Technical knowledge of systems in a multi-tenant, multi-cloud environment.
Ability to communicate effectively over text-based mediums (Teams, Email) and document technical details succinctly.
Participation in the Security Operations On-Call rotation.
Alignment with Gen's values and commitment to upholding them.
Additional responsibilities may include collaborating with other teams on broad security topics, conducting proactive threat hunting, and mentoring junior team members.
