Job Description

The Senior Manager plays a critical role in planning, directing, and overseeing all administrative operations, human resources, and/or clinical services at Mount Sinai Health System. This position may oversee facilities planning, maintenance, and custodial operations, as well as responsibility for grants and contracts and capital budget.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage and coordinate activities of clerical, administrative, and call center personnel of the department.
  2. Analyze internal processes and plan or implement procedural and policy changes to improve operations.
  3. Recommend cost-saving methods, such as supply changes and disposal of records, to improve efficiency of the department.
  4. Prepare and review operational reports and schedules to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  5. Assist in the planning of budgetary needs by analyzing short- and long-term program plans and collaborating with department leadership to ensure the completion of the annual budget and subsequent monitoring of financial status of the department, unit, or division.
  6. Interpret and administer personnel policies, including hiring, performance appraisals, training, staff disciplinary activity, and salary recommendations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding equal pay and equal employment.
  7. Facilitate the creation of training programs and conduct training for staff to carry out departmental programs and services.
  8. Facilitate the implementation of quality assurance programs to meet standards and regulations of federal, state, and city accrediting agencies.
  9. Ensure that standards and regulations of accrediting agencies, such as the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare (JCAHO) and the New York State and City Department of Health, are met.
  10. Chair department committees and participate in hospital committees as assigned.
Qualifications

7 years of experience in an administrative or management capacity.
