Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Impound Specialist to join our team at DriveTime Family of Brands. As an Impound Specialist, you will be responsible for communicating and negotiating with impound lots, assisting in all aspects of the impound process, and ensuring the smooth recovery of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

Negotiate with impound facilities on fees owed
Make decisions based on condition, fees, and profitability on whether to pick up or abandon vehicles
Conduct conversations directly with impound facilities to gather necessary information
Complete legally required, state-specific impound packets to secure vehicles from impound yards
Document information about location of vehicles, reason for impound, and total fees due to secure vehicles in the system
Assign collateral for recovery, utilizing an approved vendor and ensuring customer accounts are documented accordingly
Collaborate with recovery agents and/or impound facilities to resolve issues with vehicle recovery attempts
Document and route accounts to abandon queues if the vehicle was determined not to be worth repossession
Conduct follow-up conversations with impound facilities over abandoned vehicles to confirm vehicle location and/or renegotiate on fees
Assist other departments with inquiries related to the impounds process
Complete tasks on assigned accounts in a timely manner
Ensure impound notices received are properly notated in the system
Route all impounded accounts to proper collection queues
Utilize approved databases, tools, and internet searches to confirm vehicle impound status
Assist Impound Coordinators with the input and tracking of impound notices
Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Must be comfortable working on site and have availability Monday-Friday
