This is a training level position in the Social Worker series, and you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate child neglect reports from the community and provide information and referral for services.
- Provide initial intake, crisis intervention, and counseling services to children and their parents.
- Make investigations for Juvenile Court dependency actions and write court reports and make presentations and recommendations to the Juvenile Court.
- Provide group orientation to families interested in obtaining County licenses for foster family care and provide services to children in out-of-home care and to their parents.
- Select suitable out-of-home care placements and supervise the children in these placements.
- Participate on community task forces and committees and carry out other duties as directed.
- Master's degree in Social Work or an approved two-year (60 unit) Master's degree in Counseling.
- Within one year of completing a Master's degree in Social Work or a two-year Master's degree in Counseling.
- Proof of education will be required for verification purposes at the time of application.
