Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Operations Lead to join our team at Viejas Casino. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our maintenance and housekeeping functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the work of team members to ensure efficient and effective maintenance and housekeeping operations.
  • Develop and maintain scheduling of staff to meet and/or exceed department service requirements.
  • Resolve problems or refer matters to supervisor/manager.
  • Observe and document team member's guest service and technical performance.
  • Train team members on departmental policies and procedures and document the training.
  • Assist with ensuring that departmental policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure staff is aware of marketing promotions and changes related to Viejas Enterprises' policies and procedures.
  • Schedule and complete carpet shampooing and extraction.
  • Maintain all floor equipment in good working order.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and communication.
  • Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and appearance that contribute to a high level of team performance and guest service.
  • Respond in a timely manner to trouble calls such as store issues, leaks, lights, restrooms, etc.
  • Respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
  • Document call incidences as appropriate.
  • Assist in preparing the facilities for special events, including setting up and taking down chairs for shows in the Show Court and Park.
  • Ensure housekeeping and maintenance equipment are maintained and available for use.
  • Work with Purchasing to order housekeeping and maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Responsible for reading any departmental memos and staying current on any Enterprise and Outlet Center policy or procedure changes.
  • Attend training classes required.
  • Understand and practice good safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Handle cleaning chemicals as directed using proper formula for their safe use at all times. Refrain from depositing harmful products into sewage system.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment is maintained.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain interior and exterior walls and surfaces by painting, plastering, and/or general repairing, including benches, chairs, and tables.
  • Maintain, install, and repair plumbing systems throughout the facility.
  • Inspect, clean, repair, and/or replace roofs, floor and ceiling tiles.
  • Adjust heating and air conditioning thermostats.
  • Ensure proper working condition of doors and windows; replace or repair as necessary.
  • Inspect buildings, facilities, and equipment to determine needed repairs; make or recommend repairs or alterations as needed.
  • Wash, scrape, and sand interior and exterior hand railings and clean the bronze statues.
  • Clean/move furniture and wash windows occasionally.
  • Clean light fixtures as required.
  • Empty trash cans and dumpsters throughout the center.
  • Pick up and bale cardboard as needed.
  • Assist with estimating, material takeoffs, and maintaining files of specifications.
Requirements
  • Requires high school diploma.
  • Possesses or acquire certified license to operate trash compactors and cardboard balers.
  • Possesses or acquire license to operate a forklift.
  • Valid California driver's license preferred.
  • 5 more years of related experience and/or training.
  • Experience working with small electrical, plumbing, carpentry and/or related building trades.

  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Knowledge and proper use and maintenance of hand and power tools related to job functions.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to follow direction and work as a team.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
