Reporting to the Commercial Manager GTR Americas, the Retail Specialist will lead initiatives to enhance retail performance, focusing on training for Brand Ambassadors and store staff, as well as inventory management in key markets, including Luxury Cruise Ships across North America and LATAM. This role will closely collaborate with Account Managers and Customer Marketing Managers to implement commercial and marketing strategies, ensuring top-tier execution standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Transform the current retail framework with a visionary plan that integrates luxury into all aspects of our operations.
- Assist the Americas Commercial team in executing the channel strategy that aligns with our global vision as a premier spirits company. Collaborate with Account Managers and Customer Marketing Managers on new product launches and activations, providing field execution support and trade insights.
- Develop a comprehensive database for the Americas, partnering with the Commercial Analyst to track monthly metrics, customer inventories, traffic in key locations, stock management reports, trade feedback, and competitor analysis to support team presentations and reporting.
- Build strong relationships with customers (store teams), agencies, and the Brand Ambassador team to gather trade insights and identify new opportunities for enhancing brand visibility across our portfolio. Ensure retail execution excellence through effective promoter management and on-shelf strategies.
- Collaborate with Brand Education teams to create tailored product training programs for trade partners, working alongside both GTR and Domestic brand trainers to customize training for various customers.
- Ensure Brand Ambassadors adhere to GTR selling guidelines and inventory management through regular field visits, training sessions, and feedback discussions.
- Support the Commercial and Customer Marketing teams in planning and executing collaborative events with trade customers, taking the lead in trade coordination and execution.
- Assist Account Managers in overseeing the BA team in markets to maintain the highest standards of in-store execution. Evaluate the effectiveness of trade activations and training programs, documenting key learnings for future reference.
To excel in this position, you will possess a versatile personality and a well-developed interpersonal skill set. Additionally, you will have the following qualifications:
- BS/BA or equivalent professional experience
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken); proficiency in Spanish is an advantage.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in retail management or trade marketing within the consumer goods sector.
- A proven track record of commercial insight and a deep understanding of sales operations.
- Strong analytical skills with the capability to collect, model, and interpret data.
- Effective stakeholder management with excellent collaboration skills, both internally and externally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel within the Americas region as required.
- Consistently meets annual targets and KPIs.
- Achievement of mid to long-term objectives (activation, training, visibility, and trade engagement).
- Forward-thinking and strategic execution to contribute to long-term goals.
