Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Slitter Operator Exit End Specialist to join our team at Zekelman Industries. As a key member of our coil processing team, you will be responsible for operating the slitter and ensuring the highest quality of edges. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in meeting our production goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the slitter to process coils with precision and accuracy.
  • Monitor the slitting process and notify the operator of any malfunctions or quality issues.
  • Band up slit coils and remove them from the recoiler.
  • Label and tag all slit coils for easy identification.
  • Assist in setting up the middle and back separator arms during changeovers.
  • Check the quality of edges and consult with the Slitter Operator on any concerns.
  • Learn to run the slitter and perform daily maintenance tasks.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures, including OSHA guidelines.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and follow company safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve production goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and use micrometers, feeler gauges, and tape measures.
  • Basic computer and mathematics knowledge.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain and document quality records.
  • Basic computer experience.
