Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced faculty substitute to join our team at Redlands Christian School. As a faculty substitute, you will be responsible for instructing students in one or more subjects, ensuring that the mission of the school is supported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct students by lecturing, demonstrating, and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations.
  • Administer lessons and homework, quizzes, tests, projects, etc.
  • Administer tests to pupils, record results, and issue reports to assigned teacher.
  • Keep attendance records.
  • Maintain discipline in the classroom and demonstrate effective classroom management skills.
  • Communicate with administration to discuss student progress and problems.
  • Perform related duties such as recess and after-school monitoring, small group leadership outside of the classroom, sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting a course of study, counseling students in adjustment and academic problems.
Education and Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience; or Fifth year college or university program certificate or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; valid teaching credential.

Qualifications:

  • Profess a personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
  • Maintain a positive Christian testimony.
  • Be involved in a local church of like faith and practice, consistent with the RCS Statement of Faith.
  • Agree with and adhere to the employee handbook.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to meet people comfortably and engage in substantive conversation.
  • Must be able to work diligently and independently and make judgments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle financial matters with integrity and with concern for confidentiality.
  • Ability to use technology.
