Information Security Specialist

Job Summary

The Information Security Specialist will serve as a key member of the cybersecurity team, actively detecting and mitigating threats while engaging in various security-related tasks. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our Information Technology department, providing a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in the cybersecurity domain within a collaborative and encouraging atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and evaluate security alerts and logs to detect potential threats.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to uncover security vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in the deployment and upkeep of security protocols, including firewalls, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Contribute to the development and revision of cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Engage in incident response efforts, including the investigation of security incidents and coordinating remediation actions.
  • Help create and distribute security awareness materials for staff and students.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends, threats, and best practices in cybersecurity.
  • Collaborate with the IT Security team to ensure adherence to relevant cybersecurity initiatives.
Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Certification
