Information Security Specialist

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing the information security environment and developing security measures to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure.

Working closely with management, development personnel, risk staff, auditors, facilities, and security department personnel, you will identify and implement security plans to ensure that all information assets are appropriately safeguarded.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development of information security technology tasks and projects
  • Communicating with all levels of management
  • Generating, coordinating, and maintaining project plans
  • Developing cost analysis estimates for information security tasks and projects
  • Keeping project plans updated as required
  • Interacting with customers as required by project objectives
  • Understanding business processes as they relate to information security
  • Defining, redesigning, and documenting security processes and procedures
  • Coordinating the development and delivery of awareness for information security
  • Working with resource owners to determine appropriate security policies for securable resources
  • Consulting with IT staff to evaluate, select, install, and configure hardware and software systems that provide appropriate security functions
  • Assisting resource owners in understanding and responding to security failures/problems
  • Assisting in determining the cause of security-related events and identifying potential security-related events
  • Communicating to appropriate personnel on normal and exception processing of security authorization requests and/or breaches

Additionally, you will assist with documentation of security policies, maintain resource classification, and present on security status, project status, and security training to management and IT personnel as needed.

As a dedicated and proactive individual, you will proactively protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information in the custody of or processed by the company.

Qualifications include:

  • 2-6 years of experience required
  • BS/BA degree with three (3) or more years of relevant experience in a related field or any combination of equivalent education/personal experience and formal training
  • Ideal candidate will possess airline industry experience, a broad range of exposure to business planning, systems analysis, and/or application development
  • Experience in data administration and security methods, plus experience in various database design techniques; familiarity with multi-platform environments, and IT auditing
