Elections Information Systems Security Specialist

Under general supervision, the Elections Information Systems Security Specialist provides assistance and support to the Voter Registration System Administrator and the broader Elections Division by coordinating with vendors to establish, enhance, and maintain integrations between Georgia's Voter Registration & Election Planning System, GARViS, with other systems. The Elections Information Systems Security Specialist is also responsible for assessing and managing cybersecurity risks within the Elections Systems.
Key Responsibilities- Involved in integrations assessment and maintenance of current integrations, which includes testing, documentation, and implementation
- Acts as point-of-contact for integrations vendors regarding Elections Information Systems
- Performs limited project duties and other responsibilities as assigned to support the Elections Information Systems & Database Manager in the context of integrations, system data review, and cybersecurity
- Direct the continual upgrading of integrations and cybersecurity measures to maintain technological and business relevance
- Liaise with other Elections Division team members and senior leaders to coordinate business needs and collaboratively design solutions to complex project issues related to integrations and system security
- Responsible for application and technical support of EBD (Electronic Ballot Delivery) tool(s), Ballot Tracking Tool(s), and Electronic Poll Book tool(s)
- Strong understanding of technical language
- Experience with Elections and Voter Registration Systems is required
- Bachelor's degree from a nationally accredited college or university in computer science or a related field or an associate's degree in a technical curriculum with at least 3 years of recent relevant experience in an IT or application support role
