Job Summary

AvaMed Workforce is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at a correctional facility in California. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing mental health services to inmates, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consultation and Collaboration: Consult with supervisors, treatment team members, and CDCR institutional healthcare personnel to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including face-to-face contacts and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IOTT) meetings.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor inmate progress using CDCR Mental Health approved documentation formatting for progress notes.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for inmates, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Education and Outreach: Provide mental health education and develop additional resources for mentally ill and sex offender patients.
  • Transition and Release: Assist patients in transitioning between various settings within the institution and facilitate their release into community mental health treatment programs.
  • Medical Social Functions: Perform medical social functions as needed, particularly in CTC settings.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Compile and analyze data from audits pertaining to the mental health program requirements and provide written reports to support staff.
Requirements
  • License and Certification: Must have a Psychologist license by the California State Board of Psychology.
  • Education and Experience: Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology or a related field, with relevant experience in mental health services.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.
