Job Summary

Santa Fe College's Department of Natural Sciences is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Assistant Professor to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in providing pre-professional instruction to guide the development of the next generation of scientists, engineers, environmentalists, and health providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Develop, prepare, and teach a variety of Chemistry coursework, including didactic, laboratory, and/or classroom settings.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with the Director, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum that cultivates the mastery of course content.
  • Student Support and Assessment: Provide students with frequent, timely assessment and clear feedback regarding academic performance, and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with developments in the field of Chemistry and participate in departmental meetings and collegewide committees as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: A master's degree or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biochemistry.
  • Experience: Relevant teaching experience within a community college setting is preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment, adaptability to change, analytical aptitude, communication skills, critical thinking, customer service, ethics, organization, problem-solving, relationship management, results orientation, systems and software proficiency, and detail-oriented.
