Arcfield is dedicated to safeguarding the nation and its allies through cutting-edge advancements in digital transformation, space mission engineering, launch assurance, miniaturized sensors and satellites, advanced modeling and simulation, cybersecurity, and support for both conventional and hypersonic missile systems. With its headquarters in Chantilly, VA, and 16 global offices, Arcfield employs over 1,500 professionals, including engineers, analysts, and IT specialists, boasting more than 60 years of collective experience in supporting missions across cyber and space defense, space exploration, hypersonic and nuclear deterrence, and warfighter readiness.
ResponsibilitiesAs a recognized authority in the field, you will leverage extensive technical expertise to devise innovative solutions for complex challenges. You will have significant autonomy in defining objectives and approaches to assignments. Utilizing a comprehensive methodology, you will design, develop, assess, and refine end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products throughout their entire lifecycle. You will create measurable requirements based on customer specifications, system planning, design, and acquisition logistics, ensuring compliance with client expectations and government standards through formal verification methods.
Your role will involve translating high-level product development strategies into detailed system requirement specifications and collaborating with various engineering disciplines to establish lower-level implementation requirements. You will be responsible for establishing and coordinating the development of standards, practices, and procedures related to overall product development. Additionally, you will design interfaces and integrate system components to function cohesively. Performance assessment will be conducted using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures, and you will serve as a customer liaison to support business development efforts and to comprehend and shape requirements.
You will participate in the conceptual design of systems and document design concepts, ensuring that high-level product development strategies are effectively translated into system requirement specifications. Collaboration with multi-disciplinary engineering teams will be essential in developing detailed requirements. You will also engage in design reviews of components (both hardware and software) to ensure relevance to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation. Your responsibilities will include generating system-level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures, reviewing test plans/procedures to ensure alignment with contractual objectives, and participating in the testing process to validate requirements.
Program DescriptionThis program provides Systems Engineering Technical Advisor (SETA) and Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) services to an Intelligence Community (IC) customer, focusing on assured space communications and supporting IT and network infrastructure. Our emphasis is on the Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC), which encompasses three client divisions: systems engineering, systems acquisition, and mission operations support. Systems engineering support is centered on managing programs through end-to-end processes, including readiness, configuration management, integrated master scheduling, systems analysis, future studies, and innovations. Acquisition support is aimed at assisting government Contracting Officer Technical Representatives (COTRs) in managing development contracts to deliver capabilities that meet requirements. Mission operations roles include integrating new capabilities into operations and leading anomaly response teams when issues arise.
Specific Job DescriptionThis position involves supporting a government customer whose mission is to ensure reliable communications for other government users. The focus of systems technology is primarily on RF space communications, digital signal processing, and network communications capabilities. This systems engineering role is responsible for aiding the government in acquiring new capabilities and upgrades. Regular communication with users to understand new requirements, collaboration with development contractors to convey these requirements, and coordination with Operations for testing and final delivery of new capabilities will be key aspects of this role. You will become familiar with various systems architectures and eventually serve as a subject matter expert, advising government clients on systems engineering and acquisition-related decisions. Duties will include witnessing equipment installations, testing, and occasional travel to various locations. Managing requirements capture and ensuring baseline maintenance will also be critical responsibilities. Additionally, you may assist the government with contract-related tasks, including developing Statements of Work, reviewing proposals, and assessing contractor performance.
