The Morrow Hotel is a luxury hotel located in Washington's vibrant Union Market neighborhood, part of the DC Curio Collection by Hilton. Our hotel is known for its exceptional culinary experiences, and we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a talented and motivated Sous Chef to lead our culinary team and contribute to the success of our hotel's fine dining restaurant. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of our menu items, managing inventory and supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes
  • Lead and motivate the kitchen team to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation
  • Manage inventory and supplies to minimize waste and optimize costs
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role in a fine dining kitchen
  • Proven track record of success in menu development, inventory management, and team leadership
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in fine dining and/or hotel hospitality
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience
  • Food safety certification and knowledge of food handling and preparation procedures
  • Experience with menu planning, inventory management, and cost control
