Job Summary:

As a Computed Tomography Technologist at McLaren Health Care, you will be responsible for producing high-quality CT scans of patients while ensuring their safety and comfort. This role requires general supervision and involves operating and maintaining imaging department equipment, including tomography scanners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain patient history, explain procedures, and address patient concerns to foster a sense of comfort and confidence.
  • Operate and maintain all assigned imaging department equipment, including tomography scanners.
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly.
  • Properly identify, prepare, and administer medications within the technologist's scope of practice.
  • Complete quality assurance processes and practice radiation safety to reduce exposure to patients, staff, and self.
  • Maintain all required documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in paper and electronic formats.
  • Perform routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment.
  • May assist other areas of radiology as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Certified as a Computed Tomography Technologist.
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology.
  • Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), or American Red Cross (ARC), is required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date.

Preferred: Associate degree in radiology.
