We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Lead Veterinarian to join our Community Medicine team in Los Angeles. As a key member of our management team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities and leading a team of dedicated veterinarians and support staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional veterinary care to patients, including physical examinations, diagnostics, treatment recommendations, and discharge information.
- Lead a team of veterinarians and support staff, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure excellent patient care and a positive work environment.
- Develop and implement high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter programs and other medical protocols to improve access to care for animals in need.
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as Relocation and Community Foster, to provide medical consultations and support as needed.
- Participate in monthly veterinary medicine rounds and morbidity and mortality meetings to stay up-to-date on best practices and share knowledge with colleagues.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent.
- Current California State Veterinary License.
- Minimum three years of experience in small animal medicine and surgery, with a focus on high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter.
- Previous people management experience preferred.
- Fear Free Veterinary certification required within 60 days of hire.
