As a Surgical Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced operating room environment. Your expertise in sterile technique, operating room procedures, and equipment will be essential in providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain a sterile environment, adhering to strict aseptic technique and protocols.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure efficient case turnover and minimize downtime.
- Restock and maintain supplies, equipment, and instruments in the operating room and sterile core areas.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology.
- Basic Life Support certification required at hire.
- Surgical Technologist Certificate required at hire.
- Knowledge of sterile core area, sterile technique, and operating room procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Two to five years of scrubbing experience in all surgical procedures in an inpatient or ambulatory OR setting.
- Ability to rotate through sterile core areas and perform tasks such as cleaning and reprocessing instruments, stocking supplies, and picking case carts.
