Job Summary:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse at Rimrock, you will provide high-quality patient care according to established standards of nursing practice and our organization's policies. You will ensure adherence to state statutes and rules, CARF standards, and federal regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. You will positively represent our organization and promote our Mission to the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Completes daily nursing assessments on all new patients under the supervision of an RN, provides report to providers, formulates nursing care plans, and charts in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Administers medications as ordered and makes frequent rounds to observe, assess, and meet patient needs and conditions in the Medical Unit.
  • Charts progress notes on patients' complaints, nursing observations, and condition changes, including incident reports and behavior forms.
  • Reports to the Director of Patient Care any pertinent nursing or medical information regarding the condition and status of all patients to the on-coming nurse.
  • Counts controlled drugs at the beginning and end of shift.
  • Participates in continuing education and in-service education programs for the improvement of patient care and own professional growth and development.
  • Administers TB tests, CIWA scales, and BAL's to all applicable patients.

Education/Training:
Graduated from an accredited nursing program and received a diploma. Currently licensed as an LPN in the State of Montana and holds current CPR training and First Aid certification.

Skills:
  • Knowledge and understanding of current nursing theory and practice and ability to perform accordingly under the supervision of the Manager of Nursing and/or Medical Director.
  • Understanding of Rimrock's policies related to patient care and knowledge of limitations in nursing practice.
  • Ability to establish appropriate rapport with chemically dependent patients and understanding of chemical dependency therapy process.
  • Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Demands:
Work is indoors in an office environment with moderate noise. Intermittent physical effort involving lifting of up to 25 pounds, walking, and stooping is required. A typical workday involves sitting, frequent use of a keyboard, reaching with hands and arms, and talking and hearing, approximately 70% of the time. Approximately 30% or less of the time is spent standing. Normal vision abilities are required, including close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment/Job Locations:
Involves everyday risk or discomfort requiring normal safety precautions in an office setting, meeting room, and patient care areas. Work may involve mental and emotional stress. Some driving is required. Will work primarily at the Main Facility.
