Job Summary

The Clinical Laboratory Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper collection of blood specimens for established procedures and protocols. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures, including phlebotomy, specimen management, and quality control.
  • Prepare and initiate special tests and procedures, including cytogenetics, general laboratory, Point-of-Care Testing, urinalysis, and specimen management.
  • Obtain total volume, perform aliquot, and distribute all urine specimens.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, family, and medical personnel to ensure problem recognition and resolution.
  • Utilize standard equipment to maintain positive patient identification and perform order entry as required.
  • Perform various quality control, safety, and infection control procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a structured phlebotomy training course and clinical rotation (recommended).
  • One year of previous clinical lab experience (preferred).
  • Certification as a Phlebotomist by a nationally recognized agency/board (recommended).
  • Certification of Basic Life Support (preferred).
Work Environment

This position is eligible for the third-shift weekend option premium and a $2,500 commitment bonus. The work environment is fast-paced and requires strong communication and teamwork skills.
