Position Responsibilities:
The Medical Technologist is responsible for conducting laboratory tests, possessing a deep understanding of the clinical implications of results, and ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of findings.
- Conducts all clinical testing within the designated department.
- Accurately records and reports test outcomes in a timely manner.
- Performs and interprets quality control tests in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintains rigorous quality assurance standards.
- Adheres to established safety protocols, including Universal Precautions and proper safety equipment usage.
- Identifies issues by following prescribed procedures and implements necessary corrections.
- Consults with supervisors when criteria for decision-making are not available, and takes initiative in their absence.
- Evaluates and coordinates new reagents, procedures, and equipment as directed by management.
- Conducts routine and specialized maintenance of laboratory instruments.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or a related discipline.
- Licensure/Certification: Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent; eligibility for certification is required.
- Experience: Preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong Communication Skills.
