Job Title: Financial Controller

As a Financial Controller at Aston Carter, you will be responsible for leading a team of five and overseeing full cycle accounting for the company. You will coach your team to reach their highest potential and ensure accuracy of financials and timely delivery of reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of five and oversee full cycle accounting for the company
  • Coach team members to reach their highest potential
  • Ensure accuracy of financials and timely delivery of reporting
  • Oversee month-end close and reporting of results
  • Maintain effective financial reporting processes and tools
  • Establish and maintain strong internal financial controls
  • Oversee preparation of forecasts, annual operating plan, strategic planning, and key analytics
  • Be the finance subject matter expert for all teams
  • Support business unit managers with quarterly presentations
  • Advise on pricing and proposal initiatives, including government contracting support (FAR/TINA/CAS)
  • Work with key leaders to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws
  • Generate and implement continuous improvement ideas
  • Partner with other departments to lead value engineering and cost reduction initiatives
  • Work with the IT department on automation of processes and adoption of new technologies to leverage the power of data
Requirements:
  • Proven leadership capabilities and demonstrated organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to thoroughly understand a business's strategy and determine the linkages to financial initiatives and drivers
  • Track record of successfully managing people, projects, and tasks
  • High level of computer proficiency, including advanced capabilities with Excel
  • Hard skills required: aerospace experience, manufacturing experience, Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, MBA or advanced degree/certifications (preferred), 10+ years in similar roles, technical accounting skills, experience in data warehouse/power BI projects, knowledge of government contracting (FAR, DFAR, TINA, CAS)
