Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and engineering principles.
  • Coordinate and perform construction inspections to ensure that contractors' activities meet contractual requirements.
  • Perform measurements, computations, and other work to prepare final plans, change orders, and contractor payment estimates.
  • Maintain accurate construction documentation, records, and files, and prepare progress reports as needed.
  • Provide field checks for contractor surveying operations and serve as party chief on routine layout and staking.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university curriculum.
  • Certification to operate nuclear gauges may be required.
  • Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.
Working Conditions
  • Job requires moderate physical activity.
  • Job requires exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment.
  • Job may require operation of vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials.
