Role Overview
The Certified Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in supporting pharmacists by managing the receipt, review, compounding, and dispensing of medications.
Incentive Program
This position is eligible for our Pharmacy Technician Incentive Program, offering $3000 in commitment incentives distributed over a two-year period.
Work Schedule
Hours: 7 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM Saturday, closed Sunday.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately receive and transcribe orders from prescribers under pharmacist supervision.
- Assist in training new staff, providing education on job-specific tasks.
- Support Medication Therapy Management, Medsync, and other clinical outreach initiatives as authorized by a physician and supervised by a licensed pharmacist.
- Prepare medications for pick-up, delivery, or shipping, and manage the return of unpurchased medications to stock.
- Address patient payment issues, including prior authorizations and assistance needs, while accurately handling cash and payments.
Customer Service
Respond to and triage customer requests for pharmacy services that do not necessitate a pharmacist's professional judgment.
Technology and Inventory Management
- Operate and maintain automated dispensing technology to ensure accurate medication supply based on pharmacist and physician orders.
- Manage inventory by ordering, receiving, restocking, and rotating supplies, while contributing to expiration date management.
Qualifications
- Completion of an academic pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
- Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy is required unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
