Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Apply departmental processes regarding inventory control, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, responding to phone requests and triaging calls to the appropriate person.
  • Operate computer systems and utilize technology to support medication use processes.
Technical Capabilities
  • Drug Inventory & Records Management: Possess fundamental proficiency in working with drug inventory and records management, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance & Compliance: Demonstrate working knowledge of rules and regulations, maintaining current understanding and facilitating processes that support compliance.
  • Pharmaceutical Drug Preparation, Dispensing & Distribution: Possess sufficient fundamental proficiency to review, prepare, dispense, and distribute prescribed medications, adhering to asepsis principles.
  • Pharmaceutical Computer Literacy: Demonstrate basic understanding of computers and applications used to support medication use processes.
