Job Summary:

The Test Engineer I role focuses on system-level responsibilities. This position entails comprehensive technical oversight for planning and coordinating intricate projects. The Test Engineer will evaluate the implications of projects on systems and implement measures to mitigate any negative effects. Engineers at this level will leverage extensive technical knowledge within Transmission or Distribution sectors. This role necessitates the identification of trends and the development of system-level solutions that require creativity and innovation. These engineers must possess the skills to draft specifications for designs and materials and exhibit strong project management capabilities. Their decisions significantly impact the operating company.

What We Offer:

The compensation for this position starts at $30 to $60 per hour, commensurate with relevant experience, education, and qualifications. Additionally, we provide semi-annual profit-sharing bonuses based on company performance, which have historically ranged from 3.5% to 11.5% of annual salary.

Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET accredited)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Certificate or 6+ years of experience in testing, commissioning, or Protection & Control engineering
  • 18-24 months of experience as a Senior Relay Technician or equivalent competency level
  • Experience in project management
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to pass a standard background check and drug screening
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning of complex projects and evaluate their impact on the system
  • Assess projects for potential adverse effects and utilize technical skills to resolve or minimize issues
  • Employ technical expertise to identify trends within Transmission or Distribution domains
  • Develop test plans and procedures for projects
  • Draft specifications for designs and materials for projects
  • Utilize various engineering software tools, including Adobe Acrobat Pro and specific Transmission/Distribution applications
