Position Overview: The Facility Maintenance Specialist is tasked with a range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will demonstrate a robust mechanical skill set, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to work autonomously or collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular assessments of facilities and equipment to pinpoint and resolve maintenance concerns.
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks on machinery and systems to reduce operational interruptions.
  • Address minor electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs as needed.
  • Oversee the upkeep of outdoor spaces, including drainage systems, windows, and barriers.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and issues.
  • Manage inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, placing orders as required.
  • Document maintenance activities and materials utilized accurately.
  • Follow safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Work in conjunction with other departments to achieve organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certifications are advantageous.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and rectifying mechanical problems.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and be on-call as necessary.
  • Capability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) and perform physical labor.
  • Comfortable working in diverse environments, including outdoor settings in varying weather conditions.
  • Skilled in the safe use of hand and power tools.
