About the Role

As a Veterinary Ophthalmology Resident at North Carolina State University, you will play a critical role in preparing for the certification process leading to diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. Our program trains veterinary ophthalmologists interested in academic achievement and contribution, whether in an academic or private institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will have primary case responsibility and perform physical and ophthalmic examinations, reviewing medical records and laboratory data prior to morning rounds.
  • You will attend and participate in morning rounds, consult with referring veterinarians, and fulfill all requirements for the residency by the ophthalmology program at NCSU and the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists.
  • You will initiate a scholarly activity plan within the first six months of the residency.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must be eligible for the North Carolina Veterinary Licensure and/or faculty certificate under the supervision of the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Teaching Hospital. A valid NC Driver's License is not required, but you must have a strong foundation in veterinary medicine and ophthalmology.
