Job Summary

The Interventional Radiology Technologist plays a vital role in providing technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures, while also delivering basic patient care to diverse patient populations under the guidance of a professional nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares and positions patients accurately, selecting anatomic and technical parameters with precision.
  • Administers contrast media and medications within the scope of practice and applicable regulations.
  • Monitors patient activity during procedures, reporting any abnormalities and recommending updates to protocols as needed.
  • Circulates and scrubs complex IR/neuro procedures, supporting OR Vascular surgery cases as required.
  • Responsible for billing and coding of procedures performed, adhering to radiation safety guidelines.
  • Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards, working in a state of constant alertness and safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including call with a 30-minute response time.
Requirements
  • Minimum Education: Radiology Certification Program
  • Minimum Experience: No experience required, but 2 years preferred
  • Physical Requirements: Constant standing and walking, frequent use of vision and depth perception, and more
