They assist the licensed anesthesia provider in clinical settings where anesthesia is administered, performing duties within practice standards as described by the American Society of Anesthesiology Technologists and Technicians (ASATT).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists with room turn over, removes and properly disposes of all anesthesia supplies and equipment.
- Prepares and processes all anesthesia-related items that require cleaning, disinfection, decontamination.
- Inspects instruments and equipment for damage and initiates appropriate repair and replacement process.
- Performs daily maintenance, calibration, and quality control checks on anesthesia machines and equipment as per manufacture recommendations and hospital policy.
- Works closely with anesthesiologist, nurse anesthetists, operating room staff and leadership.
