Job Overview

The Anesthesia Technician is a vital member of the anesthesia care team at Loma Linda University Medical Center. This role works under the direction of licensed anesthesia providers to deliver exceptional patient care and support services in clinical settings where anesthesia is administered.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists licensed anesthesia providers with preparing patients for procedures, setting up equipment, and maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
  • Monitors and maintains anesthesia machines, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they are functioning properly and following manufacturer recommendations and hospital policy.
  • Supports room turnover, removes and disposes of anesthesia supplies and equipment, and ensures OR suites, procedure rooms, and anesthesia carts are stocked and ready for use.
  • Works closely with anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, operating room staff, and leadership to provide seamless patient care.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. Two years of experience as an anesthesia technician, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required. American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians Certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to read, write legibly, speak professionally, and use computer software programs necessary to the position.
