**Job Description:**

The Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in the anesthesia care team, supporting licensed anesthesia providers in clinical settings where anesthesia is administered. This individual will work closely with anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, operating room staff, and leadership to achieve shared goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up the anesthesia table, machines, and equipment according to the type of anesthesia, patient needs, and provider preferences.
  • Assist licensed anesthesia providers during procedures as needed.
  • Conduct thorough room turnovers, ensuring all supplies and equipment are properly removed and disposed of.
  • Maintain anesthesia-related items by cleaning, disinfecting, and decontaminating them.
  • Inspect instruments and equipment for damage, initiate repair or replacement processes, and follow hospital policies for quality control.
  • Inventories supplies, ensures OR suites, procedure rooms, and anesthesia carts are stocked, and backup carts and machines are ready for use.
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, operating room staff, and leadership to achieve shared goals.
  • May participate in on-call schedules as required.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Two years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician; certifications as a Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician preferred.
  • Familiarity with infection control, OSHA, Universal Precautions, Waste Management, AORN, and AAMI standards.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking English (Spanish preferred), using computer software, troubleshooting, and calibrating patient care equipment.
  • Able to work calmly under pressure, respond courteously, and communicate effectively with others.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required; ASATT Certification preferred.
