Route Sales Representative

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Route Sales Representative to join our team at Herr Foods Inc. in Monroe, NY. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for selling, delivering, and merchandising our snack food products to grocery retail and independent chain stores.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sell and deliver Herr's brand snack foods to customers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers at customer locations, providing excellent customer service and responding to customer needs.
  • Progressively increase current customer sales volume by identifying opportunities for growth and implementing strategies to achieve sales goals.
  • Execute company-sponsored promotional programs, including acquiring temporary and incremental product displays, shelving, and racks.
  • Manage daily inventory accuracy, rotating and providing credit to accounts for stale or damaged items.
  • Process orders, collect cash from customers, and accurately process associated invoices.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle safety inspections and maintain a clean truck.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license in the current state of residence.
  • Must possess an excellent driving record, with no more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years and no DUIs within the past 3 years.
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must pass a job-related assessment with a score of 70% or better.
  • Able to read, write, understand, and speak English.
  • Possess a stable work history with good references.
  • Display evidence of sound judgment and the ability to adapt quickly to different work and driving conditions.
  • Possess strong communication, persuasion, and organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities effectively.
