Chief Financial Officer

CORPORATE TEMPS is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Finance Director to join our team in East Point, GA. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for supporting the Finance Director in overseeing the City's financial management, accounting, reporting, budgeting, payroll, procurement, internal auditing, and financial record keeping.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements;
- Direct and monitor the work of department staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating employees;
- Maintain a high level of familiarity with financial systems modules, including general ledger, accounts payable, purchasing, payroll, budgeting, fixed assets, and other special projects software;
- Propose and implement enhancements to systems, coordinating with computer systems support personnel and training support staff as needed;
- Establish and ensure proper internal controls are in place to safeguard City assets, reviewing functions of other departments periodically and making recommendations as necessary;
- Coordinate, monitor, and maintain schedules of monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual reconciliation responsibilities of Finance Department staff;
- Prepare and review working papers for external auditors, acting as liaison between the auditors and City staff;
- Support the Finance Director with day-to-day operations of the Finance Department and with special projects as required, serving in the capacity of the Finance Director as necessary;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required, with a Master's degree preferred. Five to seven years of progressively responsible financial management experience, with at least two years in a supervisory position, is also required. Knowledge of municipal government financial operations is preferred, and an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
