Position Overview: Cashier

The Cashier position plays a vital role in shaping the customer's experience during their visit to Tapestry by utilizing exceptional service skills at the Cashwrap. A Cashier's capacity to deliver friendly and efficient service is essential for ensuring a delightful customer journey. Cashiers are expected to evaluate the store atmosphere, comprehend the needs of customers (and those waiting) and tailor their service accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating a memorable impression
  • Welcoming customers with a warm smile and maintaining eye contact while introducing yourself
  • Engaging with customers in a genuine and natural manner
  • Serving as an ambassador for the Insider Program

Engaging customers in both verbal and non-verbal communication at the Cashwrap and while in line (in the absence of a Cashwrap Supervisor or Line Leader).

Reading cues to identify customer needs.

Exhibiting a high level of integrity when collecting customer information such as name, address, and email (as permitted by law) while ensuring confidentiality.

Conducting end-of-shift audits in collaboration with store management.

Overseeing and approving the return process in accordance with company policy.

Ensuring that repairs are managed in line with policy alongside management.

Labeling and ticketing all damaged or scrap returns in partnership with management.

Assisting in the training and development of Cashiers in conjunction with management.

Monitoring and reporting any equipment issues to management.

Maintaining SKU integrity.

Ensuring the organization and cleanliness of the Cashwrap area.

Promoting multiple add-ons and selling gift cards.

Accurately managing media and cash in compliance with company policy.

Delivering product purchases to customers in an appropriate manner.

Additional Requirements:

Experience: 1-3 years of cashier experience in a luxury retail environment preferred. Must possess current knowledge of fashion trends and competitive landscape.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with cash register systems, basic computer skills (including the ability to use iPad/laptop, Mobile POS, and Internet), proficiency in using walkie-talkies, and the ability to read price and product release sheets.

Schedule: Flexibility to work a schedule that meets business needs, including evenings, weekends, peak seasons, and high retail traffic days.
