Job Summary:

Virtua is seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, ensure the safety of psychiatric patients and the environment of care.
  • Provide therapeutic group and individual activities for patients in need of same.
  • Provide one-to-one emotional support and behavioral redirection to patients.
  • Carry out treatment plan interventions as outlined on the Multidisciplinary treatment plan.
  • Complete necessary physical care, vital signs, and Point of Care (POC) testing on assigned patients.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of previous experience working as a Psychiatric Technician or working with a Behavioral Health population in a residential or inpatient setting.
  • Graduate with a four-year psych degree required. Experience in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention preferred.
  • HS Diploma required. Bachelor's degree in Psychology preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
