School Health Specialist

Wake County Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Nurse to join our team. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of our students.
Job Summary:The School Nurse will provide medical care and support to students, staff, and families. This includes conducting health assessments, developing and implementing individual health plans, and providing training and education to school staff on health-related topics.
Responsibilities:- Conduct health assessments and screenings for students
- Develop and implement individual health plans for students with chronic health conditions
- Provide training and education to school staff on health-related topics
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the health and well-being of students
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student health information
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field
- Current North Carolina Registered Nursing license
- Experience working with children and families in a healthcare setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field
- Experience working in a school setting
- National Board Certification of School Nurses (NBCSN)
This position will work in a professional office environment with occasional travel to schools and other locations. The work environment is fast-paced and requires strong organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements:This position requires the ability to lift up to 30 pounds and to stand for long periods of time. The work environment is generally quiet, but may be noisy at times.
