Role Overview:
As a Human Factors Research Specialist, you will be integral to the Experience Team at Denken Solutions, Inc., which is dedicated to enhancing the "Human Experience" through innovative design. Our team thrives on collaboration, utilizing a data-driven and iterative approach to human-centered design.
In this role, you will be tasked with evaluating the safety and effectiveness of internal tools and interfaces that support the testing and operation of autonomous vehicles. Your contributions will be crucial in identifying and addressing key issues, guiding our cross-functional teams to tackle the right challenges rather than merely addressing surface symptoms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive studies to assess human factors and safety.
- Employ a diverse range of design research methodologies, including field observations, interviews, survey design, interaction analysis, and human factors testing.
- Engage in future-oriented thinking to navigate uncertainties and provide well-supported recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with various teams to enhance product development and user experience.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in human factors research.
- Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human-Robot Interaction (HRI), or Human Factors Research.
- Proven experience in designing and executing studies focused on human factors.
- A strong passion for exploring emerging technologies and their potential to positively impact user experiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within the technology sector.
- Background in the automotive or autonomous vehicle industries.
- Previous work related to human factors, HRI, or HCI.
