Job Summary

An Associate Technician is responsible for providing technical support and resources to manufacturing and engineering processes and equipment. The Technician must ensure that the equipment and processes are maintained at the highest level of safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoots automated equipment failures to determine necessary upgrades and/or repairs
  • Documentation of the activities carried out and the results of work
  • Work with Maintenance Technicians to improve existing equipment (cycle time, scrap reduction, improved quality, etc)
  • Perform preventive maintenance as assigned which includes but is not limited to repair, diagnose, clean, lubricate, upgrade manufacturing equipment, glue dispensing equipment, plasma treat equipment, slide actuators, hoist, conveyors, etc
  • Provide support to troubleshoot any problem with robots on the production line
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols while servicing or maintaining equipment
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Successfully completed vocational training in electrical engineering/mechatronics or comparable training preferred
  • At least one year(s) of related experience preferred
  • Professional experience in maintenance and with automated systems, focusing on assembly technology
  • Working knowledge of tools, and devices such as torque guns, volts meters etc
  • Experience with basic electrical systems (e.g., PLC, sensors, fuses, contacts, relays) and with the ability to read and use mechanical and electrical schematics for repairs and troubleshooting
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic system components, such as pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, and solenoids
  • Experience with basic handling of robots from pendant (KUKA preferably)
  • Willing to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays with on-call availability
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
  • High level of commitment as well as a responsible, independent, and team-oriented way of working
  • Familiar with Lock Out Tag Out
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
