Job Summary

This role involves supervising a team of civil/structural engineers, estimating project staffing needs, and scheduling and assigning work. The successful candidate will prepare discipline estimates and work plans, review and approve civil/structural investigations and studies, and drive high-quality work plans and project performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, direct, and participate in the day-to-day civil/structural engineering activity on small to medium-sized projects or a portion of a major project with minimal to moderate complexity.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of personnel assigned, estimate staffing needs, and schedule and assign work accordingly.
  • Provide technical input to meet procurement requirements.
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of civil/structural discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Review and make recommendations on civil/structural engineering aspects of bid evaluations and awards for approval by project engineering.
  • Coordinate with client representatives to obtain their approval of civil/structural engineering aspects of the work.
  • Review and approve steel and concrete calculations, licensing evaluations, design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders.
  • Ensure that assigned civil/structural engineering personnel receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of project procedures and cost estimates for proposals, forecasts, and change orders.
Requirements
  • Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
