Job Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor is a key member of the Highgate team, responsible for overseeing the coordination of housekeeping functions in assigned sections and providing support to the Housekeeping Manager as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of Housekeeping staff to ensure high standards are consistently met.
  • Conduct regular room inspections to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are maintained.
  • Supervise the closing procedures, ensuring that all necessary tasks are completed and carts are properly stocked.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of daily assignments, key control, and 'Lost and Found' items.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of various areas within the hotel.
  • Coordinate daily duties assignments and maintain effective communication with Housekeeping staff.
  • Report any out-of-order rooms to the Guest Services Manager in a timely manner.
  • Initiate maintenance work orders and ensure prompt completion.
  • Provide training and guidance to Housekeeping staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Assist with cleaning rooms as required to meet business needs.
  • Ensure the successful completion of periodic cleaning projects.
  • Focus on delivering exceptional guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; related college coursework is a plus.
  • Two to three years of experience in a hotel setting is preferred; previous supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and communicate effectively is essential.
