Java Developer - Hybrid

John Galt Staffing is seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our team in Dedham, MA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain the health of production systems to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
  • Investigate, triage, prioritize and resolve incidents and issues reported by users or detected through monitoring tools.
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex software problems in a timely manner, applying analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement permanent solutions.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and implement preventive measures to avoid system failures.
  • Run daily recon jobs per defined SOPs and ensure SOPs are up to date.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for troubleshooting and issue resolution procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of development experience with at least 3 years in production support capacity.
  • Proven experience as a Production Support Developer or similar role, supporting mission-critical applications.
  • Proficiency in Java programming language.
  • Familiarity with SQL databases and ability to write complex queries for data analysis.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Knowledge of application monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Nagios, Splunk, New Relic) and log management solutions.
